Board members usually schedule meetings with the Director of Home Health Care on a agreed time, as we understand that times may vary according to availability. Members meet with the director twice a month to offer advice on various agendas. Advisory Medical Board Member (Part-Time, Flexible) — Retired Medical Professionals WantedCommunity Outreach Advocates – Merrillville, INPart-Time • HybridRemote • $100 per sessionCommunity Outreach Advocates, a nonprofit healthcare organization, is seeking a retired or semi-retired medical professional (RN, NP, OT, PT, LCSW, MD, etc.) to help guide our Home Health Agency and DME programs through Medicare/Medicaid certification.This is a flexible, part-time advisory role — perfect for someone who still enjoys contributing their expertise. Responsibilities:• Assist with Medicare/Medicaid Home Health Agency licensing• Help build and review policies, procedures, charts, and compliance documents• Support DME/HME accreditation and survey preparation• Research requirements for the Indiana PACE Program• Help strategize client growth for our Personal Service Agency• Attend weekly or bi-weekly Zoom meetings• Be available to attend on-site survey days in Lake County, IndianaRequirements:• Retired or semi-retired medical professional• Strong understanding of healthcare compliance or willingness to learn• Experience with policies & procedures or survey prep is a plus• Reliable, organized, and mission-focused• Must be able to attend occasional in-person survey daysCompensation:• $100 per advisory session (1–2 times per week)• Additional pay available for survey-day support• Very flexible scheduleYour responsibilities may include:• Participating in meetings : Attending board meetings and providing feedback on strategic decisions• Supporting leadership : Offering guidance to the organization's leadership team, especially on specific subject matters• Networking: Introducing the organization to their network and connecting it with key decision-makers and industry influencers• Representing the organization: Attending events and functions on behalf of the organization, such as industry conferences or networking events• Promoting the organization: Helping to promote the organization in the community and connect it with a new audienceWith the state of Indiana moving most of Medicare and Medicaid to the pathways program for most Indiana Hoosiers, Community Outreach Advocates is excited to expand over into the PA program within the Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance programs.With this implementation, We are now looking for strong-minded Licensed and experienced medical professionals that will advise our managers and team leaders on different strategecal agendas to implement a top quality Prior Authorization Home Health Care component to those needing assistance in living as independently as possible. (6) A nurse licensed under clinical therapist licensed under IC 25-2(7) or a physical therapy assistant certified under IC 25-27. (8) A speech-language pathologist or an audiologist licensed under IC 25-35.6-3. (9) A speech-language pathology aide or an audiology aide (as defined in IC 25-35.6-1-2). (10) An: (A) occupational therapist; or (B) occupational therapy assistant; licensed under IC 25-23.5.(11) A social worker licensed under IC 25-23.6 or a social work assistant.
