About the positionResponsibilities• Provide day-to-day administrative supervision of qualified personnel performing testing and reporting high complexity test results. • Schedule employees to ensure adequate staffing across all areas of the laboratory. • Supervise and coordinate daily operational lab activities, providing ongoing support to staff. • Monitor and adjust workflow to maximize productivity and quality in the laboratory. • Serve as a resource for technical and procedural issues from staff and external institutions.• Implement new and revised policies and procedures within the laboratory framework. • Ensure compliance with quality control, quality assurance, and regulatory standards. • Coordinate and participate in the laboratory Quality Assurance Program. • Provide orientation and training to laboratory personnel, ensuring competency in testing procedures. • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to employees, assisting in their professional development. Requirements• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related biological science.• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist. • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. • Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, sitting, and hand pipetting for extended periods. • Capability to lift up to 25 lbs. Nice-to-haves• Demonstrated management experience in a CLIA Clinical Lab setting. • Experience with therapeutic drug monitoring and toxicology analysis methodologies such as GC, HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-MS, and LC-MS/MS. • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.• Effective written and oral communication skills. • Ability to teach and train junior laboratory personnel.
