Associate Bookkeeper

Remote Full-time
Looking to join a fantastic remote team? You’ve come to the right place! Accounting Therapy is made up of a tenacious team of bookkeepers with a passion for helping others! In fact, that’s our mission – to cultivate a team of accounting experts who love to serve small businesses. We’re looking for an open-minded human who loves QuickBooks and loves accounting. This human is extremely detail-oriented, coachable, communicative, eager to be a part of a collaborative team, and highly accountable. In terms of accounting, this person understands the difference between an asset and a liability, understands why a payroll liability may be reconciled to $0, and cringes when they see a balance in opening balance equity. In terms of personality, we are looking for someone who enjoys working and interacting with a team (yes, even in a remote environment!), likes working a traditional M-F schedule with a healthy work-life balance, and appreciates receiving regular constructive feedback to promote self-development and continuous improvement. As a team member at Accounting Therapy, you can expect us to pour our resources into you. Our team is our work family, and we want you to grow with us and stay with us for a long, long while. You will have regular conversations about your professional and personal development and where you see yourself in the next 5-10 years. To drive it all home, this position is for you if…• You are an experienced QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop bookkeeper. • You are extremely organized and have superb time management skills. • You love living by a calendar and are schedule-oriented. • You like working a traditional M-F schedule and enjoy having your weekends off. • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.• You love working with clients, are charismatic, and have a passion for helping small businesses achieve their goals. • You love working with a team and don’t mind being on camera in daily virtual group work sessions and meetings. • You are tech-savvy and not afraid to learn and use new apps. • Your attention to detail is off the charts, and you regularly go above and beyond the status quo. • You are an inherent self-starter and like to solve your own problems! • You have a quiet and private home working environment, free of distractions. This position is 100% remote (we’ve got team members from coast to coast!), however, there are virtual weekly team meetings, and we highly encourage team attendance at a daily “Study-Hall Session” – an ongoing, drop-in style virtual group meet up where team members can get facetime, ask questions, and collaborate on projects (in fact, Study Hall attendance is required during your 90-day introductory period.)This is a full-time position (35-40 hours per week) that requires a distraction-free working environment.Team benefits include a flexible remote work schedule (within reason), team training opportunities, up to a 4% 401(k) match, paid vacation and holidays, and supplemental insurance for eligible team members based on employment status. Team members are required to work on their own computer system during their initial 90-day introductory period; after this period is completed, a company computer system, including multiple monitors, will be issued for use. So, what’s it like to work at Accounting Therapy?• If we haven’t driven this point home yet, we are above all things a Team! Because of our unique remote setup, our team members get a lot of facetime with each other and build actual relationships (dare we say… friendships). • We rely heavily on calendars to know what’s going on in each other’s worlds. We are totally fine with flexibility (i.e., you need to take your kiddo to dance on a Tuesday at 3 pm) as long as it’s on the calendar and work is getting done efficiently and on time. • We value honesty and transparency – if you’re struggling, say so; if you need help, ask for it – in our opinion, this is how trust is built and how improvements are made.• We also love to have fun. Our vibe is casual and personable, but still professional; we deal with money and are client-facing after all. • On the topic of clients… we are ultimately here to provide a top-notch service to clients. This does not mean hiding our amazing personalities. It does mean we do what we say we are going to do when we say we are going to do it, and we do it to the best of our ability, utilizing all resources at hand. • We are client-facing and frequently have virtual on-camera meetings with clients.• We are a very tech-heavy company. We use 6-7 apps daily to perform our jobs. • And finally, we invest a lot of time in cultivating our company culture! This includes hosting quarterly Spirit Rallies (think a fun state-of-the-union meeting), sporadic after-hours virtual happy hours, and an annual company virtual retreat called Space Camp!
