ABOUT MTC The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) is the transportation planning, financing, and coordinating agency for the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area. MTC is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the state designated Regional Transportation Planning Agency (RTPA) for the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area. ABOUT THE SECTION Clipper is the Bay Area’s regional transit fare collection system. MTC’s Clipper section is responsible for all aspects of the Clipper program. The Clipper Section delivers two major functions necessary for MTC’s operation of the region-wide Clipper system: (1) direction of the planning, development, governance, policy and new implementation of the Clipper system, including management of the overall contracting approach and the Clipper budget, and (2) Clipper technical operations, customer experience, and financial oversight for the processing, reconciliation, settlement, and reporting of fares collected for the 22 Clipper participating transit operators. The Associate Clipper Program Coordinator will assist in the Operations section of the Clipper program by having oversight of Clipper equipment, both hardware and software. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following: • Act as Operations and Maintenance liaison for operators, including monthly meetings and regular communications • Run SQL queries, SAP and PowerBI reports to support operations and maintenance of the system (device performance, issue identification and monitoring) and assist operators with ad hoc requests • Provide ongoing support for Clipper equipment installations and escalation of device issues • Provide ongoing support for equipment purchases; Tracking of equipment and assets • Tracking software releases and updates and working with operators to take action KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES • Knowledge of SQL, SAP and PowerBI and ability to create and run queries and reports • Techniques for collecting, analyzing, interpreting and reporting complex and technical data and information • Ability to research issues and evaluate and recommend alternatives • Ability to prepare and present effective reports • Prepare and present clear and concise written materials, e.g., correspondence, reports, policies, etc. • Coordinate and collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders related to assigned functions and projects MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities listed. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in planning, civil engineering, environmental science, business or public administration, or a related field and five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional experience administering programs in a field related to assignment area. Applicants with a degree issued from an institution outside the United States must have their transcripts evaluated by an academic accrediting service and provide proof of equivalency along with their application. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience in transit planning, inventory management, or other related field is preferred.EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS Successful completion of a background check, professional references and the Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9.
