About the positionResponsibilities• Contribute to developing, designing, and configuring the UNLV Salesforce organization to effectively support business processes leveraging Salesforce best practices and alignment with overall sales and service requirements. • Build Salesforce applications using Apex and Lightning Component Framework and leverage the full capabilities of the Salesforce platform to support the university's programs. • Apply best practices and design patterns of best-of-breed applications developed on the Salesforce.com platform.• Develop proofs of concept (POC) as needed, integrating new components with back-office systems during the design and requirements phase to evaluate products and integration strategies. • Assist in creating testing and implementation plans, including user training and documentation. • Remain current with Salesforce technologies and best practices. • Assist in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving defects encountered during different stages of project delivery, including during the deployment and implementation of the solution in production environments.• Interact directly with customer, project team, and other stakeholders to ensure customer success. • Own support cases that require advanced problem solving for our diverse user base. • Assign day-to-day work for assigned Graduate Assistants. Requirements• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. • For Associate Salesforce Developer: Minimum of 1 year experience with Salesforce Ecosystem systems and best practices, 1 year experience with application and software development, and 1 year of experience with Apex and the Lightning Component Framework.• For Journey Salesforce Developer: Minimum of 2+ years experience with Salesforce Ecosystem systems and best practices and a Salesforce App Builder Certification. • Basic understanding of software engineering concepts. • Good communication and collaboration skills. • Adequate troubleshooting skills. • Entry-level knowledge of all levels of the SDLC and all testing phases. • Working knowledge of using modern IDEs (VSCode, IntelliJ) and Source Control tools (Git, SVN). • Basic understanding of relational databases.Nice-to-haves• Salesforce Platform Developer 1 and Salesforce App Builder certifications. • Experience in a higher education environment, particularly in a 4-year, large public R1 university. • Some experience with the greater Force.com developer toolkit (Visualforce, Force.com IDE, Workbench, Force.com Migration Tool and Metadata APIs). • Basic knowledge of Agile Accelerator, Jira, or Confluence to project manage. • Entry-level experience developing Lightning Components (Aura) and/or Lightning Web Components.• Basic knowledge of and experience with bolthires/CD methodologies and specifically, the Gitlab/Salesforce bolthires/CD pipeline setup and configuration. • Experience with the Education Data Architecture (EDA) and Student Success Hub (SSH) managed Salesforce packages and/or Salesforce Education Cloud.
