Backend Developer; Node.js
Position: Backend Developer (Node.js) Backend Developer (Node.js) Ixilix is a technology-driven company that builds high-quality solutions and long-term partnerships. Our team is growing, and we are looking for a Middle + Backend Node.js Developer . Requirements • 4+ years of commercial experience as a Backend / Node.js Developer • Strong knowledge of Node.js and backend development principles • Production experience with Nest.js and Next.js • Deep understanding of network protocols : HTTP/HTTPS, TCP, Web Socket (and common messaging patterns) • Strong experience with databases: MySQL , MongoDB , Redis , Click House • Proven experience in database optimization : query optimization, indexing strategies, schema refactoring • Strong knowledge of RxJS and reactive programming • Excellent understanding of OOP, SOLID principles , and design patterns • Strong Git skills (branches, rebasing, resolving conflicts) • Experience optimizing application performance and scalability • English B1 Responsibilities • Develop, maintain, and scale backend services using Node.js • Build and support applications based on Nest.js and Next.js • Design and implement REST APIs and Web Socket-based services • Work closely with frontend and full-stack developers to deliver end-to-end solutions • Participate in code reviews and contribute to high code quality standards • Optimize backend performance and system reliability • Refactor existing codebase and improve service architecture • Design, refactor, and optimize database schemas • Investigate and resolve complex production issues Nice to have • Experience with high-load systems • Understanding of event-driven architectures • Experience with message brokers (Kafka, Rabbit MQ, etc.) • Experience with microservices or modular backend architectures • Experience in game, gambling, or real-time systems (optional) Competencies • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work with complex legacy systems • Clear communication and collaboration skills • Ownership mindset and responsibility for delivered solutions • Proactive approach to improvements and refactoring What we offer: Rewards & Celebrations • Quarterly Bonus System • Team Buildings Compensations • Memorable Days Financial Benefit Learning & Development • Annual fixed budget for personal learning • English Language Courses Compensation Time Off & Leave • Paid Annual Leave (Vacation) - 24 working days • Sick leave - unlimited number of days, fully covered Wellbeing Support • Mental Health Support (Therapy Compensation) • Holiday Helper Service Workplace Tools & Assistance • Laptop provided by Company (after probation) Work conditions: • Remote work from EU • Flexible 8-hour workday, typically between 9:00 - 18:00 CET • Five working days, Monday to Friday • Public holidays observed according to Ukrainian legislation • Business trips to Bratislava every 3-6 months (company provides compensation of expenses) At Ixilix, we value transparency, trust, and ownership.
