CAD Designer Needed for Small Medical/Wearable Device Prototype (Fusion360/SolidWorks)

Remote Full-time
I’m developing a small, discreet medical/wearable device (a soft nasal airflow support worn inside the nose). I’m looking for an experienced CAD designer or mechanical engineer who can help turn the concept into an initial 3D model and create a few early test prototypes. Project Scope (Phase 1)• Translate my notes, sketches, and an early conceptual design into a refined CAD model• Develop 2–4 small design variations exploring comfort, shape, and fit• Prepare files for 3D printing (STL/STEP)• Produce (or help coordinate) multiple quick 3D-printed prototypes for testing• Provide brief input on soft materials, flexibility, and comfort considerationsThis early-phase project will involve some back-and-forth iteration to refine the design, but all within a small, contained timeline. If we work well together, there may be opportunities for follow-on refinement. Ideal Experience• SolidWorks or Fusion360 (required)• Experience designing small consumer products, wearables, or medical-adjacent devices• Understanding of fit/ergonomics and tolerances• Familiarity with soft plastics, flexible components, or silicone modeling• Ability to iterate quickly and communicate clearlyWhat I’m Looking For• Intermediate-level mechanical engineer or CAD designer• U.S.-based• Clear communicator who can take feedback and also provide recommendations• Someone who can deliver initial variations/prototypes within a reasonable early-phase timeline. When Applying, Please Include:1. Examples of physical products you’ve designed2. Your preferred CAD software3. Any experience with 3D printing or soft-material components4. Your availabilityLooking forward to working with you!
