California Trust & Estate Litigator (Remote)
Latitude Legal is seeking a California-licensed Trust & Estate Litigation Attorney to join a boutique San Diego litigation practice on a part-time engagement basis (approximately 25 hours/week). This is a fully remote contract role. The position is designed for someone who wants hands-on litigation experience and the opportunity to work closely with the firm's partners who provide direct guidance, training, and oversight. What You’ll Do Includes• Litigate trust and estate disputes, including will and trust contests, breach of fiduciary duty claims, accounting disputes, creditor claims, trustee/beneficiary conflicts, and related probate and civil matters.• Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and briefs, manage written discovery, and support depositions, mediations, and trial preparation. • Assist in developing case strategy and crafting practical, client-centered solutions that balance legal rights, family dynamics, and fiduciary obligations. • Provide thoughtful, professional communication to beneficiaries, trustees, fiduciaries, and family members involved in sensitive, high-stakes matters. • Collaborate closely with partners on complex disputes, taking direction where appropriate while also running with assignments independently.• Organize and manage a busy docket, including tracking deadlines, preparing case materials, coordinating filings, and ensuring matters progress efficiently. • Maintain strong responsiveness and communication while working fully remote during West Coast business hours. Who You Are• 4+ years of trust & estate or probate litigation. • Strong legal research, writing, and motion-practice skills; comfortable taking direction and implementing partner feedback. • Desire to build (or continue building) a specialized practice in trust & estate litigation.• Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks while communicating effectively with a small team. • Comfortable working directly with clients under partner supervision, especially in sensitive family- and wealth-related matters. • Comfortable working in a remote/WFH environment and availability during West Coast business hours. • Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing.
