Independent Contractor - Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA)Stroudwater Associates is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) to provide specialized, project-based valuation and financial analysis services on a contract (1099) basis. This role involves delivering expert, objective, and defensible valuations primarily within the healthcare industry. The ideal candidate will work independently, manage project timelines, and ensure all valuation engagements comply with professional standards and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities• Valuation Services: Conduct fair market value (FMV) and commercial reasonableness (CR) valuations for various healthcare entities, assets, and arrangements, including hospitals, physician practices, joint ventures, compensation arrangements (e.g., physician employment, call coverage), and intangible assets. • Financial Analysis: Perform complex financial modeling, forecasting, due diligence, and financial statement analysis to support valuation conclusions. • Report Generation: Develop comprehensive, well-supported, and clearly written valuation reports and presentations that effectively communicate methodologies, findings, and conclusions to clients and internal stakeholders.• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all valuation work is performed in accordance with professional standards (e.g., those set by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA), relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g., Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute), and Stroudwater’s quality standards. • Project Management: Manage project scope, budgets, and timelines efficiently, working independently while coordinating as needed with Stroudwater Associates consulting teams. • Client Interaction: Participate in discussions with firm personnel and/or clients to gather necessary data, present findings, and address any questions regarding the valuation analysis.Required Qualifications• Certification: Active and in good standing Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA) is mandatory. • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in healthcare, with significant time dedicated to business valuation, financial analysis, or forensic accounting, preferably within the healthcare sector. • Technical Skills: Expertise in standard valuation methodologies (e.g., Income Approach, Market Approach, Asset Approach) and proficiency in financial modeling software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the healthcare industry, including regulatory environments (e.g., Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute) and their specific implications for valuation. • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly and concisely.
