PositionThe Certifying Scientist (Toxicology) is responsible for certifying patient results and ensuring compliance with CLIA/CAP regulations.This role requires hands-on LCMS experience with a strong focus on drugs of abuse or pain management testing in a clinical laboratory setting. DescriptionThis is a contracted 1099 position, as needed, open to qualified candidates located within the United States. The start date is flexible and will begin as soon as we find the right fit. Schedule:Flexible schedule (remote, U.S.-based)Responsibilities:Operate and maintain LCMS instruments, including Agilent 6460 or similarConduct toxicology testing with a focus on drugs of abuse analysisCertify patient results to ensure accuracy and compliance with CLIA/CAP and regulatory standardsPerform quality control procedures and take corrective actions as neededCollaborate with other departments to troubleshoot and resolve operational issuesEnsure compliance with laboratory safety protocols, SOPs, and regulatory requirementsInterpret and analyze data, generating accurate patient result reportsAssist in method validation and continuous improvement initiatives for toxicology testingOther duties as assigned by managementRequiredQualifications:Bachelor of Science degree or higher in chemistry, biology, clinical laboratory science, or a related fieldMinimum of 2 years of experience in clinical toxicologyCertifying Scientist experience (must have experience certifying patient results)LCMS-specific experience, including Agilent 6460 or similarExperience with drugs of abuse testingStrong organizational and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to multitask, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate results efficientlyPrior work in a CLIA or CAP-accredited laboratoryAll positions require time zone awareness, including the impact of daylight saving time, as we are a multi-state organization with teams and partners across different U.S.time zones. Clear communication and timely coordination are essential.
