Title: Coordinator of Religious Education - St. Michael the Archangel Parish - Silver Spring Maryland Location: Silver Spring United States Part-Time Job Description: Job Description: St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Silver Spring Maryland is hiring a part-time Coordinator of Religious Education. The position is structured for 15 to 18 hours per week. The preferred candidate would be bilingual (English/Spanish), organized, demonstrate strong leadership abilities, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate must be in full communion with the Catholic Church and deeply committed to Catholic doctrine and practice. He or she should have a knowledge of and commitment to the Archdiocesan Faith Formation Guidelines. This position requires the ability to work collegially with catechists and parish ministry leaders, as well as school and parish staff. Education Requirements: Degree in Religious Education or Catechesis preferred. Consideration will be given to both appropriate educational background and practical experience. Experience in parish formation programs is preferred. Job Qualifications: Practicing Catholic committed to the teachings of the Church. Must be highly detail oriented. Outstanding communication skills. At least two years parish experience as a catechetical leader. Proficiency in Microsoft Office necessary; familiarity with Parish Soft is helpful.
