Data Analyst, Bureau of Hepatitis, HIV, and STI

About the positionResponsibilities• Develop and implement database queries. • Prepare datasets for epidemiologic and surveillance projects and analyses. • Analyze data and provide data interpretation for STI quality assurance, evaluation, program development, surveillance, and research. • Access and analyze large data sets housed outside the Bureau (e.g., Medicaid data, hospital discharge data). • Contribute to the development of comprehensive proposals, protocols and evaluation plans for select STI or cross-cutting STI-HIV-Hepatitis research, surveillance, and evaluation projects.• Contribute to narrative and data reporting to federal funders and internal leadership, in collaboration with other STI Program analysts. • Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications. • Supervise 1-2 staff who conduct interviews for a CDC enhanced surveillance project. Requirements• A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health.• For Assignment Level II and above, a doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and one year of full-time experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization; or a master's degree with three years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization.
