JOB SUMMARY The Ecommerce Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and performance of The Music Room’s ecommerce and digital marketing initiatives. This role ensures that the website functions smoothly, campaigns and promotions are executed accurately, and the online shopping experience is optimized to drive revenue, conversion, and customer engagement. This role sits at the intersection of ecommerce operations, conversion optimization, and digital marketing execution. Working cross-functionally with marketing, content, creative, and operations teams, the Ecommerce Manager manages site performance, merchandising, promotions, analytics, and optimization initiatives. This role plays a key part in scaling ecommerce revenue by improving conversion rates, streamlining workflows, maintaining data integrity, and supporting growth initiatives across buying, selling, and lead-generation experiences. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable owning both execution and performance outcomes in a fast-paced ecommerce environment. You will be responsible for keeping the site running clean, optimizing performance, and ensuring marketing efforts actually translate into revenue. This is not a purely strategic role — it’s hands-on, analytical, and execution-heavy. If you enjoy turning data into action, improving funnels, and making ecommerce systems work better every week, this role is for you. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Ecommerce Operations & Execution • Own daily site health (collections, promos, banners, PDP accuracy, pricing) • QA all launches: promos, landing pages, collections, new features • Ensure merchandising rules are live, accurate, and effective • Coordinate with merchandising and content to ensure products are presented correctly • Manage ecommerce checklists and launch calendars 2. Performance & Optimization • Monitor key ecommerce KPIs daily and weekly • Identify issues with conversion, AOV, merchandising, or traffic flow • Partner with Marketing Director on CRO improvements • Own implementation and testing of site optimizations • Ensure tracking, tags, and events are firing correctly (with support) 3. Marketing Execution & Support • Execute and QA email and SMS campaigns (Klaviyo) • Manage campaign scheduling and flow execution • Ensure emails, landing pages, and onsite promos align • Catch broken links, formatting issues, and logic errors • Help keep marketing running on schedule • Define and maintain core marketing KPIs 4. Conversion Fundamentals & Funnel Health • Monitor site conversion rates and major funnel drop-offs • Identify obvious leaks (forms, PDP clarity, friction) • Run simple tests and improvements • Escalate deeper CRO needs when appropriate 5. Analytics & Performance Insights • Own day-to-day analysis in Google Analytics (GA4) to monitor traffic, conversion rate, revenue, AOV, and funnel performance • Build and maintain simple weekly dashboards for ecommerce and marketing performance • Identify drop-offs, friction points, and anomalies across the site and checkout • Partner with the Marketing Director to translate data into action (not just reports) REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE • 4–7 years in e-commerce, digital marketing, or e-commerce operations • Experience with Email/lifecycle platforms (e.g., Klaviyo or similar) • Experience with Shopify Plus (admin-level comfort) • Proficiency in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to track KPIs and user behavior • Ability to interpret data to inform business decisions, tracking metrics like CPA, ROAS, and conversion rate • Highly organized, systems-minded, and detail-oriented • Thrives in imperfect, growing environments • Strong leadership in teams and working with cross-functional departments.
