About the position The Employee Engagement & Experience Program Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing employee satisfaction and retention initiatives within the City of San Diego. This position involves collaborating with leadership and staff to foster a positive workplace culture, ensuring employees are engaged and equipped for success. The role is hybrid, primarily based in San Diego, and focuses on developing and managing programs that improve overall employee experience. Responsibilities • Identify trends, gaps, and challenges in employee engagement and execute strategies to mitigate risks. • Develop and implement large-scale projects aimed at improving employee experience and retention. • Analyze workforce data and employee feedback to create actionable strategies for leadership. • Produce high-quality written communications and deliver presentations to leadership. • Build relationships with stakeholders to influence change and motivate teams. • Launch and manage sustainable engagement mechanisms across the organization. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Public or Business Administration, or a related field. • Five years of professional experience in developing and implementing employee engagement strategies. Nice-to-haves • Master's degree in a related field. • Professional certification such as PMP, IPMA-CP/SCP, SPHR/PHR, or completion of an Organizational Development Certification Program. • Experience with an employee sentiment platform (preferably Medallia). • Experience with a learning management system (preferably SuccessFactors). • Experience in a unionized environment.
