English Tutor Needed for 7th Grader - Focus on Grammar and Writing

Remote Full-time
My wife and I are looking for an experienced English tutor to work with our 7th grade daughter. She is a top performing student and is in her public school's gifted and talented program. We are looking to supplement in-school learning with very aggressive tutorials focusing on1. grammar for SAT preparation and2. writing composition. The tutor will plan, prepare for, and lead tutorials at least once a week (1 hour per tutorial). The tutor must have a strong background in teaching English grammar and be capable of designing an individualized writing program.By way of background over the last few weeks, my daughter completed 55 IXL lessons that constitute the majority of the Body of Knowledge for the grammar portion of the SAT. Below are the topics that she needs remedial work to fully understand. I ask, please, that the tutor structure the tutorials such that the identified topics can be discussed with her in entirety on or before the end of January 2026. This gives 10 weeks (allowing 1 week off for each of Thanksgiving and Christmas). In addition, the tutor will assign one essay each week. This essay will be submitted for review (via email) at least 48 hours prior to the start of the scheduled tutorial. My suggestion is to budget 60% of the tutorial time on grammar and 40% on writing review until we address the grammar deficiencies. If a preferred grammar textbook is desired, let us know so we can have this available. Clearly, any time the tutor spends reviewing her work or preparing lessons are billable hours. Identified Topics (English Grammar Deficiencies):1.Is the sentence simple, compound, complex, or compound-complex?(IXL FF-4)2. Identify-transitive-and-intransitive-verbs (IXL, JJ-1)3. Correct errors with indefinite pronoun-verb agreement (IXL, KK-2)4. Use the correct verb – with compound subjects (IXL, KK-3)5. Identify gerunds and their functions (IXL, LL-6)6. Identify infinitives and infinitive phrases (IXL, LL-7)7. Identify prepositional phrases (IXL, NN-1)8. Is it a direct object or an indirect object? (IXL, OO-1)9. Select the misplaced or dangling modifier (IXL, QQ-2)10. Are the modifiers used correctly? (IXL, QQ-3)11.Use semicolons and commas to separate clause (IXL, TT-1)12. Correct capitalization errors (IXL, VV-1)13. Pronoun types: relative pronouns (who and whom) (IXL, II-7)In addition to the scheduled tutorials, my daughter will complete an independent study of selected vocabulary words starting with the PSAT High Frequency Word List from IXL. She will know the definition and usage (but not spelling) of these 150 words on or before November 25th, 2025. I will then assign an additional list. Apply tot his job
