Position: Enterprise Architect - Oracle Fusion Cloud / E-Business Suite (EBS)Company: Confidential Client (Global Retail & Merchandising Leader)Location:Remote (North America)Employment Type: Contract to hire, 6-9 monthsRole OverviewWe are seeking a senior-level Enterprise Architect with proven Oracle Fusion Cloud and E-Business Suite (EBS) experience to design, lead, and deploy ERP solutions for a fast-scaling global retailer. This is a highly strategic role within a North American consulting firm engaged by a major global retail client to modernize and integrate their ERP backbone.You will partner directly with client executives and internal leaders to define architecture blueprints, drive system modernization, and deliver enterprise-scale ERP transformation using Oracle Fusion Cloud and related EBS components. This is a hands-on and business-facing role requiring consultative leadership, deep ERP architecture knowledge, and experience aligning technology to business strategy. Major Objectives1. Lead the Oracle Fusion Cloud Architecture Across Finance, SCM, and OperationsWithin the first 90 days, define and socialize an enterprise architecture blueprint that aligns Oracle Fusion Cloud capabilities with the client's core business and operational needs. Ensure that the design supports modular deployment, strong governance, and long-term scalability.Key deliverables include architecture diagrams, integration strategies, risk logs, and alignment workshops with client VPs. 2. Align EBS Legacy Systems and Plan for Coexistence or MigrationBy day 120, assess the client's current EBS implementation and develop a migration or coexistence plan that ensures continuity of critical operations. Deliver a roadmap that includes key decision points, phased transitions, and technical architecture support for hybrid EBS + Fusion scenarios. 3. Establish Reusable Architecture Playbooks for Oracle ERP SuccessBy month six, create standardized patterns, templates, and architecture artifacts to support consistent ERP solution delivery across other clients and verticals.Lead internal architecture reviews, identify common risks, and build consulting IP that can be reused to accelerate future engagements. Critical Subtasks1. Conduct a Full ERP Architecture and Process AssessmentWithin the first 30-45 days, complete a comprehensive review of the client's current-state ERP systems, including EBS modules, integrations, reporting tools, and data pipelines. Produce an executive-level summary with detailed architectural findings, risks, and opportunities. 2. Define Fusion Cloud Integration Architecture and Data StrategyDevelop a clear, scalable integration architecture for Fusion Cloud ERP modules, aligned with surrounding systems including data lakes, analytics, HR systems, and inventory/supply chain tools.Provide governance on data models, APIs, and master data synchronization. 3. Guide ERP Solution Design and Configuration with Implementation TeamsAct as a senior technical advisor and escalation point throughout the implementation phase. Partner with functional teams to validate ERP module configurations, ensure solution integrity, and resolve complex issues related to orchestration, security, and performance. 4. Translate Business Objectives into Architecture DecisionsWork directly with finance, operations, and supply chain leadership to understand goals, constraints, and KPIs.Convert these into concrete architecture decisions and rationalized tradeoffs. Facilitate decision-making through business architecture diagrams, capability maps, and scenario modeling. 5. Engage in Steering Committees and Architectural Governance ForumsRepresent ERP architecture in all relevant client governance processes. Present risks, justify changes, and document key decisions that impact future roadmap stability and compliance. 6. Mentor Consulting Teams on Oracle ERP Architecture Best PracticesWithin 120-180 days, lead enablement sessions, peer reviews, and post-mortems.Help internal consultants and client staff build confidence in ERP solutioning and Oracle Fusion delivery methods. Promote ERP architecture discipline across all engagements. 7. Continuously Evaluate and Integrate AI to Improve PerformanceWithin the first 90-180 days, assess opportunities for leveraging AI or automation to improve architecture quality, data validation, reporting, or decision support within the ERP ecosystem.
