Excel Metadata Specialist – Populate Book Metadata from Source Spreadsheet
Job Description I am looking for an experienced Excel specialist to populate missing book metadata in a target spreadsheet using data from a provided source spreadsheet. This is a straightforward data-mapping and cleanup task, but accuracy is critical as the file will be used for publishing and distribution. Scope of Work You will be provided with: Source Excel file containing complete metadata Target Excel file with missing fields that need to be filled Your task is to match rows by Title and populate the following fields in the target file using the source data: Columns to Complete in the Target File Column O – Height (mm) Column P – Width (mm) Column Q – Depth / Spine (mm) Column R – Weight (kg) Convert from grams if necessary Column CG – Main Description Column CR – RRP including VAT (GBP) Requirements Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP / INDEX-MATCH) Experience working with book or product metadata (preferred) Ability to: Match records accurately by Title Convert units correctly (grams → kilograms) Preserve formatting and existing data Attention to detail — no overwriting of incorrect columns Deliverables A completed Excel file with all specified columns filled No images, screenshots, or PDFs — Excel file only Any unmatched titles should be clearly flagged (e.g., highlighted or listed separately) Estimated Time 1–2 hours for an experienced Excel user.
