Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a freight handler and data entry specialist. As a key member of our logistics operations team, you will be responsible for transporting freight across the dock area, loading and unloading trailers, and performing various data entry tasks to ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping. Key Responsibilities Perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including but not limited to: forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck Verify documentation matches freight description (e.g., type, weight, hazardous materials), using current electronic or manual systems Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g., pallets, straps, rope) Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary Verify and complete required documentation and reports Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed Perform hostling duties if required Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as arenaflex policies/procedures Perform other duties as required Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, preferred Must be at least 18 years of age Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling, and/or fork lift operations preferred If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator Basic written and verbal communication skills Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, to lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds, and to open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 pounds of lift force, up to several times per day or more Ability to bend, twist, squat, pushing/pulling freight throughout shift Ability to work independently and/or as a team member Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience with data entry software and systems Knowledge of logistics and transportation operations Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines Excellent customer service skills Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Attention to detail : Ability to accurately verify documentation and perform data entry tasks Physical ability : Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver freight and equipment Communication skills : Ability to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, and management Teamwork : Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals Adaptability : Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Problem-solving skills : Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
