Job Overview The Insurance Customer Service Representative will be responsible for handling property and casualty (P&C) related customer service and billing inquiries via telephone. The successful candidate will provide customers with plan coverage information, quotes, policy changes, and policy change impacts to premium. This role requires a Property and Casualty insurance license, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting. Key Responsibilities Contact policyholders through inbound/outbound telephone calls, direct mail, and email to review policies prior to renewal and update policies to enhance retention and better meet customer needs. Counsel policyholders concerning appropriate coverage, policy limits, payment options, and state laws to provide sufficient protection against risks covered by Property and Casualty insurance. Make recommendations and/or changes to policies and gain policyholder acceptance to process changes. Receive and respond to calls and emails, documenting all activity in EPIC. Utilize knowledge of the insurance industry and arenaflex policies and procedures to provide efficient and professional customer service. Identify opportunities to apply discounts, process insurance verification forms, and act as a liaison for information exchange between customers and insurance companies. Process changes to policies within EPIC and submit changes to specific companies, following up to ensure change requests have been processed in a timely manner. Review policy information and reference company-specific claims procedures to assist insured in filing claims. Mail insured documentation to be signed and returned as necessary, following up to ensure documentation has been returned in a timely manner. Recognize cross-sell opportunities and obtain quote information. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be successful in this role, candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of increasingly complex customer service experience in an insurance environment. A Property and Casualty insurance license is required, and a Membership license is preferred or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment. Skills and Competencies Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to provide professional and efficient service to customers. Strong knowledge of property and casualty insurance, including policy coverage, limits, and state laws. Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with minimal supervision.
