EXPERIENCED Litigation Secretary / Legal Assistant - 100% in office Los Angelesdowntown- Haight Brown & Bonesteel
Haight Brown & Bonesteel is seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary for the Los Angeles office. This job requires daily commuting with no remote work offered. Duties:• Prepare, revise, and finalize correspondence, discovery responses, court forms, motions and other legal documents• File legal documents in federal and state courts, including e-filing and complex litigation filings • Prepare documents for service of process; prepare case “shell” documents for use by attorneys as well as generate table of contents and authorities• Schedule appointments and calendaring• Monitor litigation deadlines and assist in the execution of those deadlines• Review incoming mail for calendaring & distribute to appropriate attorney• Coordinate and schedule depositions; prepare notices and subpoenas as needed• Schedule and notice independent medical exams (IMEs)• Assist attorneys with trial preparationRequirements:• Solid knowledge of California and federal court rules for filing & serving discovery, motions and pleadings• High proficiency with bolthires programs (Word, Outlook, Excel).Knowledge of iManage and CARET Legal is a plus. • Superior organizational and time management skills; excellent attendance and reliability• High attention to detail; exceptional proofreading skills to ensure that grammar, punctuation, spelling & formatting are accurate• Strong interpersonal and communication skillsOur firm culture includes a mix of teamwork, good communication, a work/life balance and career development opportunities.
