As a Remote Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive the best possible experience, from scheduling appointments to resolving insurance and billing issues. Job Overview In this dynamic and rewarding role, you will be responsible for providing top-notch customer service to our patients, handling a wide range of tasks, including obtaining and updating patient information, scheduling appointments, and resolving insurance and billing issues. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your excellent communication and problem-solving skills to ensure that our patients receive the highest level of care and service. Key Responsibilities Obtain current patient information from established and new patients, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data. Enter and update patient information in our scheduling system, maintaining the integrity of our database. Identify payer source and verify insurance eligibility, ensuring that our patients receive the coverage they need. Assist patients with completion of paperwork when necessary, providing guidance and support to ensure a smooth and efficient process. Review our Scheduling System for needed updated demographics and consent forms, scheduling appointments and ensuring that all necessary documentation is in place. Identify patients by date of birth and name in our computer system, creating new accounts as needed and scheduling and rescheduling appointments as required. Demonstrate superior customer service skills, answering telephone calls in a timely and polite manner, and communicating with customers in a courteous, professional, cooperative, and mature manner. Take messages and convey accurate information to recipients, ensuring that our patients receive the information they need in a timely and efficient manner. Transfer calls to physicians and nurses when medically indicated, protecting and observing patient confidentiality per our policies and procedures. Import registration documents into patients' electronic health records, maintaining the accuracy and completeness of our records. Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable (A/R) for all payers, including self-pay, and resolve denials, working to achieve maximum payment on accounts and identify issues or changes to achieve client profitability. Handle all correspondence related to insurance or patient accounts, contacting insurance carriers, patients, and other facilities as needed to resolve issues and achieve optimal outcomes. Work with EDI transactions and ERA files, reconciling carrier submissions, edits, and rejection reports, ensuring that our billing and insurance processes are efficient and effective. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred. At least 2 years of experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues and make sound decisions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and scheduling systems. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities with ease. Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of work. Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset: Certification in customer service, healthcare, or a related field. Experience with insurance billing and reimbursement, including knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance plans. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and guidelines, with a strong understanding of patient confidentiality and privacy. Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.
