Fiber Optics Logistics Engineer (Remote)
AIT is seeking a highly skilled, full-time Fiber Optics Logistics Engineer to. This is a full-time remote position. MandatoryExperience:· Five (5) years of specialized experience directly related to naval logistics. · Demonstrated experience with the Navy maintenance community and the systems and processes employed. · Familiarity with fiber optic cable plant, installation, and fiber optic standards. · Clearly demonstrated management, engineering, and communication skills to balance all efforts and provide high quality products on time and within budget are critical.· A proven ability to accomplish such duties while working independently in a highly dynamic Navy environment. · MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO OBTAIN A SECRET DOD CLEARANCE UPON ONBOARDING. PreferredExperience:Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering disciplinePrimaryResponsibilities:· Review, update and maintain requirement documents to include inspector processes, certification manuals, Ships Instructions, fleet messages, etc. · Review all RPL, REL, APLs and AELs for obsolescence or obsolescence risk. Perform Analysis of Alternatives, review and recommend candidate replacements.· Support Fiber Optic Test and Readiness (FOTR) certification expansions identified by program office. · Make required updates to the pertinent Fiber Optic Allowance Equipage List (AEL) and Allowance Parts List (APLs) in Configuration Data Managers – Open Architecture (CDMD-OA) (or similar navy management data source) including SharePoint Administration and any other applicable databases. This includes the knowledge and capability to develop and maintain new AELs, APLs, and assign to appropriate platforms.· Support curriculum requirements and documents maintenance for NAVAIR/Joint/FOTR Integration· Review, revise and update FOTR training documents to include SCSTC CIN A-670-0063 Curriculum, CFOTL, Resource Requirement List (RRL), Training Course Control Document (TCCD), PowerPoint Presentations. · Make updates to FOTR SharePoint Database of Annual Review and Recertification as needed for different fiber training sites· Manage procurement and distribution of materials to include tooling, initial consumable parts, test equipment for multiple Regional Maintenance Centers (RMC) fiber optic certifiers· Participate in Inspector & Instructor (I&I) Spring/Fall Conferences, to include travel as required.· System Integration Agent (SIA) review of various documents (e.g. Ship Change Documents, Liaison Action Reports (LARs), Deviation from Specification (DFS), Engineer Change Request (ECR), Ship Installation Documents (SID) and provide recommended response for compliance with shipboard fiber optic requirements.
