The School of Education at the University of Massachusetts Global is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven faculty member to join our fully remote academic community starting April, 2026. This full-time appointment is anticipated at the Assistant Professor level, with consideration for Associate Professor based on experience. Why Join UMass Global? • Make a direct impact on working adults and career changers • Collaborate with a supportive, forward-thinking faculty community • Focus on course and program development, teaching, and mentorship, with research encouraged but not required • Enjoy the stability of a full-time, 12-month appointment • Teach and lead in a 100% online, flexible environment Requirements for this Position Include: • Doctorate or master's degree in special education or an education-related field • Current Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board-Certified Behavior Analyst – Doctoral (BCBA-D) and be in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) • Knowledge of BACB’s current BCBA requirements and the 2027 Standards. • Special Education teaching credential (or equivalent) and be eligible and committed to applying for a California teaching credential within the first year of appointment. • Minimum three years of credentialed special education teaching experience • Experience in teaching evidence-based best practices to address the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students in partnership with teachers and parents and related service providers. • Demonstrated ability to engage collegially and collaboratively with faculty, staff, and educational professionals across disciplines. • Dedicated to fostering environments that value and respect diverse perspectives and lived experiences. • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining educational partnerships (districts, charters, county offices, organizations). • Leadership experience in creating data-informed approaches to enhance student success and retention rates. • Demonstrated success teaching in an online asynchronous learning environment • Must reside in the United States Preferred qualifications for this Position include: • A doctorate in special education. • A California Mild/Moderate Support Needs or Extensive Support Needs Education Specialist credential (or an equivalent out-of-state credential) with teaching experience in that area or willing to apply for the California credential immediately upon hire. • Professional experience providing ABA services in both school and private agency environments. • Demonstrated expertise in developing and delivering engaging online university courses. • Membership or involvement in ABA, Special Education, and Behavioral organizations or committees at the state (California), national, and/or international level. • An established network of partnerships, colleagues, and organizations in CA and nationally. • Demonstrated ability to manage, support, and train adjuncts in an online environment. • Background in developing curriculum, assessments, and learning activities in an LMS. Responsibilities for this position include: • Assist in the development and implementation of the Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis program within the School of Education. • Develop and teach online courses in the special education credential program and in the Master of Arts in Special Education (MASE) program. • Develop and support relationships with school and district personnel who provide field placements for course-related and culminating clinical experiences. • Maintain professional and collegial conduct, and establish and maintain mutual respect, trust, communication, and confidentiality with teacher candidates, school/district personnel, faculty colleagues, university staff, and leadership. • Participate in service to the education community internally and outside the university.
