What You'll Do (Responsibilities)Leverage existing systems to design compelling content, engaging open-ended progressions, and emergent gameplayAssist the design team in crafting content, while maintaining and tuning our various systemsUtilize a robust set of in-engine content creation tools to rapidly execute and iterate on design conceptsCreate engaging and rewarding progression-based contentDocument, update, tune and organize content for existing features and systemsCollaborate with engineers in the iteration of our content-creation tools and pipelinesPlaytest, give feedback, and iterate on content you and the design team have createdWhat You Bring (Qualifications)Experience as a single-player Content Designer, Level Designer, or Mission Designer on multiple shipped, professional PC or console game titles.A player-first mentality with an emphasis on enabling the player to make their own choices and tell their own storiesExperience with iterative development and rapid prototypingKnowledge and experience with state machines and visual scripting languagesExcellent verbal and written communication skills that allow you to effectively express your intentions and needs to a distributed teamA collaborative attitudeNice to HavesUnderstanding of probabilistic narrative principlesUnderstanding of agent based simulation designUnderstanding of game economies and decision space tuning.Being located in the Bay Area and able to travel to the office in Berkeley 2 days a weekPractical InformationScope: Full-time with benefits, Fixed term contract lasting for 6 months.
