Global Head of Employment Law
About the positionResponsibilities• Lead the company's global employment law function, coordinating and providing legal advice on labor and employment law requirements. • Provide legal advice on global employment policies, handbooks, and procedures in alignment with best practices and local requirements. • Provide legal guidance in negotiation of executive employment agreements, informed by knowledge of prevailing market practices, best corporate governance principles, and U.S. securities law considerations.• Monitor and advise on legal, regulatory, and legislative developments impacting labor and employment practices across the company's jurisdictions. • Partner with HR to help ensure that employment contracts, policies, and practices reflect compliance and reduce legal exposure. • Manage the team of our regional in-house employment lawyers based in the U.S., Europe, and Asia-Pacific. • Oversee day-to-day legal support and advice on a wide range of employment law issues, including employee relations, terminations, compensation, benefits, workplace investigations, and organizational restructuring.• Provide thought partnership to HR and senior leaders on the design and implementation of company initiatives affecting the workforce, such as flexible work arrangements and employee engagement initiatives. • Act as a trusted advisor to HR senior leadership and senior executives on strategic employment law matters. • Develop training to HR teams, managers, and business leaders on employment law topics and regulatory updates. • Advise on legal requirements to achieve compliance in the labor and employment area with relevant laws related to privacy, data protection (e.g., GDPR), and health and safety standards.Requirements• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution. • A minimum of 20 years of legal experience, with at least 10 years focused on global employment law in a multinational corporation or top-tier law firm. • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-border legal matters and employment disputes. • Strong understanding of HR processes, employee relations, and labor relations. • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior leadership.• Experience working with diverse teams and in a matrixed organizational structure.
