Job title: Sr. Manager, Government RelationsCompany: Home DepotJob description: POSITION PURPOSETheSenior Manager, Government Relations will represent and advanceThe Home Depot's government relations agenda before elected officials, government decision-makers, and internal and external strategic partners across the Federal Government. The individual is responsible for managing a multifaceted strategic plan to accomplish key government relations objectives and priorities aligned with our core values that will protect, defend and advanceThe Home Depot’s business.MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESDevelop, implement and manage government relations strategy and legislative agenda, including tracking legislation and direct lobbyingRecommend and oversee political contributions to candidates and associations aligned with business interestsOrganize store walks and engage in community events with elected officialsProvide rapid response to fast-moving legislative priorities including the development of talking points and grassroots campaigns and support for issuesDirect and manage trade associations and external lobbyistsWrite updates for weekly newsletters, position papers, grassroots alerts, and issue summaries for internal and external audiencesConnect existing company and Foundation programs and relationships to favorably impact public policy issues and enhance our reputation with policy makers and government stakeholdersNATURE AND SCOPEReports to the Director, Federal Government RelationsENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTSEnvironment:Position is based at the company’s Washington, DC office and requires in-person interaction with public officialsLocated in a comfortable indoor area.Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Travel:Typically requires travel 25-35% of the timeAdditional Environmental Job Requirements:ESSENTIAL SKILLS:Standard MinimumQualifications:Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
