Human Resources Director – Remote (supporting MA, RI, CT and CA operations)

Position Summary: The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading and managing all HR functions including a team that includes a HR Generalist, HR Administrator and Recruiter across multi-state salon operations. This role supports company leadership and field management by developing HR strategies, maintaining compliance, strengthening company culture, and supporting the growth, engagement and retention of our employees. Responsibilities: • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures aligned with company values. • Serve as a trusted HR partner to ownership, leadership, and salon management. • Manage employee relations, including performance management, retention strategies, investigations, conflict resolution. • Oversee recruitment, hiring, and onboarding for salon and corporate roles. • Support training, development, and career growth initiatives for employees and managers. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across MA, NH, RI and Ca law. Administer employee benefits and act as a resource for employee questions • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation • Track HR metrics and recommend improvements to processes and programs Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field • 10+ years of HR experience, preferably in multi-location, retail, hospitality, or service environments, Franchise experience a plus • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills • Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization • Organized, hands-on, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP) preferred • ACA Management/Open enrollment experience • 401K administration experience, • ADA exposure • Clear experience managing a team that includes a Generalist, Recruiter and an HR Administrator.
