Job DescriptionAs a Crisis/Behavior Instructional Assistant w/RBT withThe Menta Group, you will be responsible for working with classroom instructors and staff to offer targeted teaching and support to students in the classroom, as well as general support for all students in the school. Responsibilities Manage classroom and/or Refocus Room behaviorsReport behavioral concerns of students to appropriate staffImplement and maintain behavioral program policies and dataMaintain classroom order and safety (Security)Provide general supervision of students inside the school settingAssist in the prevention and management of incidents of non-compliance and/or escalation in behaviorMaintain alertness for problems likely to disrupt the educational process or to be a safety concern and correct and report these conditionsRespond to emergency situationsProvide interventions to students to assist in managing behaviorsThink quickly, independently, and tactfully Qualifications Registered Behavior Technician CertificationSubstitute Teacher Certification or Bachelor's Degree preferredSecurity or Juvenile Justice background is helpfulMilitary Veterans are encouraged to applyAbility to operate tactfully under stressFlexibility to change in routinesAt least 23 years of ageAble to work with high-risk special needs studentsGood driving record and willing and able to drive student van is strongly preferred Benefits Benefit options include: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Supplemental Insurance ProgramsMedical Insurance enrollment is available to full time employees on their date of hire.No waiting period.10 Month School Position with 12 Month Semi-Monthly PayGenerous Paid Time Off Benefits403(b) Investment OptionsDirect Employer Hire Additional Information Southwest AcademyIn addition to providing a rigorous and excellent education for students, Southwest Academy offers a short-term placement for students facing suspension from their home schools, reducing the likelihood of repeat behaviors.
