Instructional Designer, Contract, K-8
Description: • Contract Instructional Designer will collaborate with our team to create high-quality instructional products and tools—including print, multimedia, and digital materials—while managing their own schedule and workflow to meet agreed-upon deliverables. • Part-time, project-based engagement with flexibility, autonomy, and opportunity to contribute to meaningful educational projects. • Develop lessons in alignment with the C.A.R.E.S. standards and Fly Five goals. • Design active, experiential, and inclusive curriculum content for K–8 learners.• Create scalable instructional materials for educators, stakeholders, and students. • Collaborate with the project team during scheduled check-ins and respond to agreed-upon feedback. • Attend mandatory project meetings and weekly check-ins (between 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. ET). • Integrate literacy principles, diversity, and equity into curriculum resources. • Provide completed deliverables according to project timelines and quality standards. • Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, or related field (Master’s preferred).• Minimum 3 years’ experience in K–8 teaching, instructional design, or curriculum development. • Strong project management skills and ability to work independently. • Access to own computer, software, and reliable internet connection. • Type: Independent contractor (1099) • Hours: Approximately 20 per week • Schedule: Flexible; must meet deliverables and attend required meetings/check-ins between 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. ET • Location:Remote • Equipment: Contractor provides own computer; CRS provides access to required files • Duration: Three-month contract; may be terminated as needed • About Center for Responsive Schools: Center for Responsive Schools is a nonprofit educational organization committed to helping schools become joyful, engaging learning communities where every student can thrive.Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, or related field (Master’s preferred). • Minimum 3 years’ experience in K–8 teaching, instructional design, or curriculum development. • Strong project management skills and ability to work independently. • Access to own computer, software, and reliable internet connection.
