Insurance - Analyst / Senior Analyst (NY)
About the position Assist with all aspects of the credit ratings process including preparation of quantitative and qualitative analysis as well as active participation in team discussions. Assist with the development of rating and analytical tools to support financial statement analysis and evaluate debt instruments. Participate in on-site diligence meetings with management teams to assess their investment expertise, risk management skills, operational processes and overall ability to develop and successfully execute strategies. Develop and maintain complex spreadsheets and databases. Leverage and seamlessly collaborate with KBRA experts in other sectors such as investment funds, financial institutions, and structured credit. Assist in research for internal and external publication purposes. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Math related fields or any subject that requires strong analytical skills. • Analyst level: Zero to two years of experience in insurance, financial institutions, credit risk or fixed income investing. • Senior Analyst level: Minimum of two plus years of experience as an analyst in insurance, financial institutions, credit risk, or fixed income investing. • Ability to work as an integral part of a highly collaborative team and across disciplines in a challenging and dynamic environment. • Ability to manage time and resources in a fast-growing company. • Demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely. • Effective verbal communications skills. • Advanced proficiency in Excel. • Extremely high attention to detail. Nice-to-haves • Familiarity with Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research, data insights, and general productivity is a plus.
