ABA Billing, Credentialing, Authorizations & VOB Consultant - Contract to Hire

Description: We are an ABA therapy agency currently outsourcing our billing, credentialing, authorization management, and verification of benefits (VOB) to a third-party vendor. We’re now ready to bring these functions in-house and are looking for an experienced U.S.-based consultant to guide us step-by-step through this transition. We're seeking a highly knowledgeable expert in ABA-specific revenue cycle management to help us: Scope of Work: Provide a comprehensive overview of each function (billing, credentialing, authorizations, and VOB) within the context of ABA therapy Identify tools, systems, and best practices for each function Assist in building and documenting our internal processes and workflows Train our internal team (operations/admin staff) to take over these responsibilities with confidence and accuracy Review and advise on any software or platforms we’re currently using or considering (e.g., CentralReach) Be available for Q&A, troubleshooting, and occasional ongoing support as needed Requirements: Must be located in the United States Direct experience in ABA therapy revenue cycle management Deep knowledge of payer credentialing (commercial and Medicaid), especially in states like Colorado and Maryland (preferred) Proven experience managing authorizations and VOBs for ABA services Familiarity with ABA billing codes (CPT 97151, 97153, etc.), payer requirements, and compliance standards Strong communication skills, with an ability to clearly explain processes and train others Ability to create or contribute to SOPs and training materials Preferred Experience: Familiarity with CentralReach or other ABA-specific EMRs Experience working with multi-state providers Prior consulting or training experience Project Type: Short-term consulting engagement with the potential for extended support Please Note: This is a U.S.-based role only.
