Accounting Manager (Supervisor, Accounting)

Summary Redwire Space, located in Jacksonville, FL, has a current opportunity for an Accounting Manager (Supervisor, Accounting) who will be responsible for providing daily & administrative support to the Sr. Manager of Accounting, Operations, including daily review/entry into the accounting system and management of staff accountants day-to-day tasking. Requires an attention to detail and solid analytical, organizational and communication abilities. Responsibilities • Prepares general ledger entries as needed and reconciles all balance sheet accounts. • Reviews & performs month-end close functions including preparing and/or reviewing of journal entries for month-end close ensuring transactions are reasonable and in compliance with Business Processes, GAAP and FAR. • Requires data/transaction retrieval/analysis from external sources. • Verify accuracy of accounting documents & records. • Updates, reconciles, and maintains accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial business transactions (i.e., expense vouchers, invoices, receipts, disbursements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.). • Ensures all accounting processes are being conducted in accordance with established standards procedures, and applicable laws. • Reviews & performs monthly and quarterly SOX internal controls. • Coordinates the performance of quarterly/annual audit requirements with external auditors. Ideal Experience • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance is required - Masters in accounting or finance is desired. • A minimum of 8 or more years of accounting experience required. • A minimum of 2 years of people management is desired • Experience and aptitude for applicable software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Dynamic GP, Deltek CostPoint) • Knowledge of general accounting functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledgers and month end closings. • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP and SOX Compliance. Desired Skills • Understanding of Percentage-Of-Completion accounting. • Detail and deadline oriented. • Ability to maintain sensitive information in confidence. • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently in an effective and timely manner. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and positive relationship-building skills. • Strong judgement and decision-making skills, based upon known criteria. • CPA is a plus • Ability to objectively analyze and evaluate facts.
