Accounting Policy and Reporting Lead

A newly capitalized and fast-growing company in the annuity and reinsurance sector is seeking an experienced Accounting Policy and Reporting Lead (APRL) to support the CFO and Corporate Controller. This position plays a key role in developing and maintaining accounting policies and overseeing SAP, GAAP, and IFRS reporting across multiple entities. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, controllership experience, and industry knowledge to help build scalable reporting infrastructure in a dynamic environment. Comp is gravitating to the $140,000 to $170,000 all in range (base + bonus, flexible) Key Responsibilities • Develop and maintain accounting policies in alignment with SAP, GAAP, and IFRS standards. • Monitor and interpret accounting and regulatory changes issued by NAIC, FASB, IASB, and insurance regulators. • Lead quarterly and annual SAP, GAAP, and IFRS reporting processes and disclosures. • Conduct technical accounting research to support business and reporting decisions. • Collaborate with technology teams to enhance automation and reporting efficiency. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred. • 5–7 years of experience in a controllership or corporate accounting role. • Strong knowledge of insurance and annuity accounting and reporting standards. • Proven leadership and communication skills in a collaborative, high-growth environment. • Experience with financial reporting systems; Oracle and Clearwater familiarity a plus.
