SIG Group is a leading provider of packaging systems and solutions, seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk for a temporary role. The position involves managing day-to-day accounts payable activities, ensuring compliance with policies, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify invoices and expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Verify that receivers, purchase orders, and invoices match in quantity and price
- Sending reports and working directly with cross-functional teams to resolve issues
- Makes sure all discounts are taken on a timely basis
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Monitoring shared AP inbox
- Review goods receipts reports regularly to identify missing invoices or receiving issues
- Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner
- Organize digital invoice and support files for digital document imaging system
- Assist in month-end closing activities
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and information
- Perform backup support, other clerical tasks, and ad hoc reporting as needed
Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of one year of related experience or formal training
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational abilities
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Associate's degree or relevant coursework in Accounting or Finance
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Familiarity with three-way matching (invoice, purchase order, and receiving documentation)
