Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Adjunct Faculty member to teach Medical Coding and Health Insurance courses during the Fall 2026 semester (September–December). You will deliver engaging online instruction, facilitate classroom discussions, and guide students through the complexities of medical documentation, coding systems, and insurance processes. Responsibilities • Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, focusing on CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, HCPCS, and other coding systems. • Deliver engaging online instruction utilizing various digital platforms to foster interactive learning environments for adult students. (E.g.: CANVAS, MS Teams, etc.) • Review and evaluate student assignments, exams, and documentation to ensure understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and documentation review processes. • Facilitate discussions on revenue cycle management, medical billing procedures, and the role of electronic health records (EHR) management within healthcare settings. • Incorporate practical exercises related to Epic systems and CMS guidelines to prepare students for real-world healthcare documentation and coding tasks. • Provide timely feedback to students on their progress while maintaining accurate records of attendance and performance for compliance purposes. • Stay current with updates in medical coding standards, CMS regulations, and health information management practices to ensure course content remains relevant and accurate. Qualifications • Proven experience in medical office settings with knowledge of Epic EHR systems and healthcare revenue cycle management. • Strong understanding of CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 classification systems, HCPCS codes, and documentation review processes. • Prior teaching or training experience in online environments or adult education settings preferred. • Familiarity with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines and compliance standards. • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and health information management principles. • Ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate real-world scenarios related to medical billing and coding. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate adult learners through remote training methods.
