Lockheed Martin, a leader in aerospace innovation, is seeking an Aeronautical Engineer specializing in Composite Rotor Blade Design. The role involves developing next-generation designs for rotor blades, ensuring they meet performance and durability requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detail design layouts of composite blade designs
- Follow robust processes to ensure the designs meet customer and company requirements for performance and durability in the field
- Support productionization of blade designs, working closely with suppliers to ensure product delivered meets drawing specifications
- Provide fleet support for maintenance and repair of fielded blades
- Work with cross functional teams within the Sikorsky Engineering and Technology groups, across multiple sites
- Perform technical tasks including blade layouts, 3D solid modeling and surfacing of blade assembly subcomponent parts, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, engineering drawing and part specification development, developing composite laminate design and manufacturing requirements, and developing bonded assembly manufacture requirements
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or Higher in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited Institution
- Familiarity with composite structure design and analysis
- Familiarity with 3D modeling software
- Good Communication skills
- US Citizenship is required due to program requirements
- Experience with CATIA V5, V6 or 3Dx
- Surfacing design experience
- Composite rotor blade design experience
- Hands on experience with composite part manufacture
