This position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals looking to kickstart their accounting career. The successful candidate will assist in various accounting functions, including financial statement preparation, payroll processing, and financial analysis, while gaining... valuable experience in both public and governmental accounting environments. Duties • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP. • Support payroll processing and ensure accuracy in employee records. • Perform financial analysis to identify trends and variances. • Maintain accurate records of transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks and Quicken. • Help with accrual accounting processes to ensure timely reporting. • Collaborate with team members on various accounting projects, including LIHTC compliance. • Participate in audits and assist in the preparation of audit documentation. • Stay updated on financial concepts and regulations relevant to governmental accounting. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; relevant experience may be considered. • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Quicken is a plus. • Knowledge of governmental accounting principles and practices is desirable. • Understanding of payroll processing and related regulations. • Experience or coursework in financial statement preparation and financial analysis is beneficial. • Basic knowledge of accrual accounting concepts. • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
