Assistant Librarian, User Experience Librarian - Dominican University - River Forest, IL - work from home job Company: Dominican University Job description: TITLE: Assistant Librarian, User Experience Librarian FLSA STATUS: Exempt (Salaried) DEPARTMENT: Rebecca Crown Library REPORTS TO: University Librarian STATUS: Full-time (37.50 hours/week) PRIMARY PURPOSE//POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Librarian, User Experience Librarian provides leadership in the management and marketing of Rebecca Crown Library's website, WeatherTech Innovation lab, and Recording studio. The User Experience Librarian is responsible for the development and implementation of events, projects, and partnerships to improve the overall user experience of the library. Specifically, this librarian will organize academic and social programs to promote the library as a learning and community space for students, faculty and staff. The librarian will be responsible for performing assessment studies and gathering statistics on library programming, usage, attendance, etc. EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL DOMINICAN EMPLOYEES To support the University's mission of preparing students to pursue truth, to give compassionate service, and to participate in the creation of a more just and humane world. JOB COMPONENTS//PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Manages and markets Rebecca Crown Library, WeatherTech Innovation Lab, and Recording Studio. • Manages library's website. • Creates, develops, promotes, and implements outreach plans aimed at increasing the use of library services and resources for students, faculty, staff, and the community. • Develops partnerships with university entities to promote and develop programming that will support the curriculum as well as faculty research. • Plans, organizes, schedules, assigns, reviews, and evaluates library programs. • Coordinates, manages, and schedules outreach library services for undergraduate, graduate, faculty and staff. • Reviews the accessibility of online library products and makes updates to ensure their usability for persons with disabilities. • Supervises, mentors, trains, and evaluates student assistants. • Actively participates in the library's Instruction and reference program. • Teach one three-credit course per academic year. • Performs other duties as requested, delegated, or assigned. MINIMUM/REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Highly effective written and oral communication skills to address a wide variety of audiences. • Demonstrated resilience, diplomacy, influence, relationship building, and problem-solving skills in a variety of situations. • Maintains knowledge of trends in the library profession through a variety of literary, training, educational, professional, and networking means. • M.L.S./M.L.I.S. from an ALA-accredited school. • Must be committed to fostering an equitable and inclusive working and learning environment.
