Admiral Insurance Group is a member of the W. R. Berkley Corporation, specializing in underwriting difficult-to-place moderate to high-risk commercial businesses. The Associate Underwriter - Casualty will focus on underwriting and servicing new and renewal accounts, ensuring compliance and maintaining key broker relationships.
Responsibilities
- Production and underwriting of new and renewal account business of the following classes: Construction, Products, Liquor Liability, Habitational, Amusements, and OL&T
- Compliance with underwriting documentation rules and guidelines
- Maintain an acceptable underwriting profit
- Adherence to Admiral underwriting guidelines and referral compliance
- Development and maintenance of key broker/agent relationships
- Deliver timely and accurate quotes and endorsements to brokers, ensuring responsive and reliable service
- Participates in all internal company training and continuing education
- Attends strategic marketing calls to key brokers
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience underwriting Commercial Lines, with proficiency handling complex and high-hazard risks
- Ability to understand and execute priorities including underwriting appetite, limit management and mix of business, broker strategy, and pricing/rate strategy
- Strong organization skills
- Ability to manage deadlines effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Technical proficiency is required
- Completed coursework toward a Risk Management and Insurance Degree a plus
- Applicable coursework toward attainment of a CPCU or other related Insurance Designation(s) preferred
- Strong knowledge of the E&S marketplace
- In-depth knowledge of commercial E&S Casualty strongly preferred
