Benefit Verification Specialist

About the position Responsibilities • Verify insurance coverage for patients requiring in-home IV therapy. • Perform benefit investigations and obtain prior authorizations for new and existing patients. • Process patient prescription orders in a timely manner. • Demonstrate excellent customer service to patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance carriers. • Understand insurance carriers and concepts including drug cards, major medical benefits, and per diem coverage. Requirements • Analytical and problem-solving skills. • Attention to detail. • Experience working in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word. • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required. Nice-to-haves • Minimum one year experience working in a healthcare environment. • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party vendors. • Epic experience.
