As a Bilingual Paraprofessional Tutor, you will play a crucial role in this mission, supporting the language development and academic success of our bilingual students. Key Responsibilities: Supporting Student Success Support classroom language instruction for Newcomers and bilingual students under the guidance of a certified teacher, tailoring your approach to meet the diverse needs of our student population. Obtain and maintain certification for a paraprofessional through the Regional Office of Education, ensuring you are equipped with the latest methodologies and best practices in bilingual education. Perform instructional interventions under the guidance of a certified teacher to support bilingual students, helping to bridge any gaps in their understanding and foster a more inclusive learning environment. Work closely with the Director for Bilingual and Multicultural Education to ensure that your efforts are aligned with the district's broader goals for bilingual education. Essential Qualifications: The Ideal Candidate To be considered for this role, you must: Possess a Paraprofessional License, demonstrating your foundational knowledge and skills in supporting educational instruction. Be bilingual, with the ability to communicate effectively in both English and the target language of our bilingual programs. Have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by bilingual students and a commitment to supporting their linguistic and academic development. Preferred Qualifications: Enhancing Your Application While not mandatory, the following qualifications can enhance your application: Experience working in educational settings, particularly in roles supporting bilingual or multicultural students. A background in education or a related field, which can provide a deeper understanding of the instructional contexts in which you will be working. Previous experience with instructional interventions and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
