Billing Services /VA/ - Native Indian American Care Services /Arizona Based/

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Services Virtual Assistant (VA) to support healthcare operations specifically catering to Native Indian American care services in Arizona. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing and collections, particularly with Indian Health Service (IHS), Medicaid (AHCCCS), and other tribal healthcare billing processes. Key Responsibilities: • Accurately process and submit medical claims for Native Indian American care services using appropriate billing systems (e.g., IHS RPMS, AHCCCS portal). • Verify insurance eligibility and coverage for Native American patients. • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and initiate appeals when necessary. • Reconcile claims and payments, prepare financial reports, and update patient billing records. • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times. • Coordinate with tribal clinics, IHS representatives, and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues. • Respond to billing inquiries from patients or healthcare facilities in a timely and professional manner. Qualifications: • Proven experience in medical billing, preferably within tribal healthcare or Indian Health Service systems. • Familiarity with Arizona-specific Medicaid (AHCCCS) and tribal billing procedures. • Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding systems is preferred. • Proficiency in billing software and electronic medical records (EMRs). • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Prior experience working with Native American communities is a strong plus.
