Board Member – Bookkeeping & Financial Strategy (Volunteer)

About Us: From Your Father is a Christ-centered nonprofit serving fatherless children and single mothers across Middle Tennessee. We provide monthly Love Boxes filled with essentials like food, diapers, and hygiene items — and we’re preparing to open The House, a permanent space of nourishment, stability, and dignity for women and children in need. We’re inviting a mission-minded financial professional to join our Board of Directors and help steward this work with excellence. About the Role: This is a volunteer board position. We're seeking someone to support our financial strategy, provide light bookkeeping oversight, and ensure clean and accurate financial reporting as our organization grows. Key Responsibilities: • Reconcile monthly income and expenses (QuickBooks Online) • Offer financial insight during board meetings and strategic planning • Provide guidance as we strengthen systems for long-term sustainability • Attend one monthly board meeting (1 hour required) Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or nonprofit financial strategy • Familiarity with QuickBooks or willingness to learn • CPA is a plus • Alignment with Christian values and a heart for service • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills What You’ll Gain: • The opportunity to contribute your expertise to a high-impact cause • A meaningful way to give back and build your legacy • Recognition on our website, including your name and (optional) contact information • Credibility of nonprofit board leadership on your résumé and client list • Involvement in a major project — opening a home that will serve hundreds of women and children • Estimated time commitment: 2–4 hours/month, including board meetings Please note: This is a volunteer board position with a small stipend ($70 monthly and can increase overtime).
