About the Role The Accounting Associate is analytical, precise and fun to work with. This person has a strong working relationship with our internal team and can manage day to day accounting alongside our Accountants on the east coast and team based on the west coast. Our team of Accountants on the east coast runs point on most AP/AR work, but we need a strong internal presence to ensure our accounting is being managed properly by our internal planning and buying teams. This role is part-time (15-20 hrs/week) and can be based in Los Angeles or remote. Requirements • 1-2+ years of accounting experience, including bookkeeping. • Knowledge or familiarity with Xero software preferred but not mandatory. • Intermediate/Advanced proficiency using Excel preferred. • Legally eligible to work in the U.S. without Visa sponsorship, required. Responsibilities • Manage internal teams to ensure billing processes are being followed and we are billing clients consistently and correctly. • Enter and approve bills ,with external accounting partner. Use bill.com and Xero. • Process staff expense reports and reimbursements. • Download and reconcile Exverus team credit card spend. • Aid in developing internal and external accounting processes and procedures to minimize workload and maximize accuracy, working with external accounting partner. • Provide quarterly/yearly training for staff members on updated and current payment processing policies and procedures. • Research and resolve incoming/outgoing payment discrepancies with vendors, program teams and staff. • Prepare ad hoc reports and other ongoing tasks as needed. • Note: This role may require additional accounting/bookkeeping elements as needed or as external accounting partners evolve their scope.
