Brand Strategist/Consultant for Early Stage SaaS product

Brand Strategist for AI Compliance SaaS (Early-Stage, Regulated Industries) I'm building an AI governance platform that gives regulated teams a verified context layer for every AI agent, think of it as an employee handbook for AI. We're pre-launch, in a category (AI governance / infrastructure) that is still emerging and I'm at the stage where positioning and messaging need to crystallize before go to market and begin outreach. What I'm looking for: A brand strategist or positioning consultant who has done this before for early-stage B2B SaaS — ideally with experience in compliance, legal tech, fintech, or another regulated vertical. Someone who can help me answer: who is the exact buyer, what messaging does that buyer best respond to, and how do I say that in a way that earns trust and creates urgency? This is collaborative work. I have strong opinions and a lot of context about the product, architecture, and the market already. I need someone to pressure-test my thinking and help refine it into something credible enough to take to market. The scope: • Positioning workshop / discovery (ICP, pain, differentiation) • Core messaging framework (headline, value prop, elevator pitch variants) • Review and feedback on existing marketing site copy • Ideally this project takes no more than 1-2 months to complete and around 7-10 total hours of your time. Ideal fit: • Marketing / branding experience in a start-up saas environment mandatory • Has positioned a technical B2B product for a non-technical buyer • Comfortable with ambiguity • Has worked in or around regulated industries (legal, finance, healthcare, compliance) • Can point to specific positioning work they've done, not just brand identity Budget: $1,500 (open to conversation for the right fit). I would love for this to grow into more in the future and for that reason strongly encourage Northern California submissions. If this sounds like your kind of problem, I'd love to see examples of B2B positioning work you're proud of and a quick note on how you'd approach positioning in this category at a high level.
