As a Consultant in Human Resources Operations focusing on Immigration, you will play a pivotal role in driving our immigration program and consulting with both internal and external partners to ensure compliance with Verizon's policies and practices, as well as the overall success of the immigration program. Your responsibilities will include working with multi-disciplinary internal teams and external stakeholders to manage Verizon's immigration program. This involves consulting, advising, and strategizing with HR Business Partners, Senior Executives, and Hiring Managers regarding legal issues and processes. You will initiate immigration cases with external vendors and provide advice and guidance to internal stakeholders regarding complex immigration processes and procedures. Additionally, you will articulate and organize immigration and assignment processes, responding to employee inquiries and requests for immigration-related letters and documents. You will also consult with stakeholders on ways to resolve complex, contradictory, and sometimes confusing immigration regulations, Verizon policies, budgetary issues, and general concerns for the individual foreign national. Clear and effective communication regarding Verizon's immigration policies and requirements, government procedures, and processing times will be essential as you work with HR Business Partners, employees, and appropriate business stakeholders. Furthermore, you will manage and coordinate with immigration vendors to complete and monitor the progress of immigration cases and applications, reconcile invoices related to Verizon's immigration program, and maintain, track, and provide periodic reports and analysis of Verizon's immigration program and employee data as required. This is a home-based role with occasional onsite meetings and training as needed, allowing you to work from anywhere in the continental US. Requirements Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. , Four or more years of relevant work experience. , Four or more years of employment-based immigration experience in a law firm or in-house setting. , Experience with various types of employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visas (H1B, L1, O1, employment-based green cards, PERM process, etc.). , Experience with complex immigration regulations. , Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time. Nice-to-haves A degree in a related field. , Ability to manage and direct all aspects of individual immigration cases. , Knowledge of current issues surrounding the immigration landscape. , Ability to manage a large caseload. , Extremely organized and detail-oriented. , Strong verbal and written communication skills. , Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. , Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels of the organization. , Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.
