Job Description: Controller for a SaaS Company Location : Mexico or Latin America (US Time Zone) Employment Type : Full-time, Remote About the Role : We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our accounting operations and drive financial excellence. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with strong technical expertise in accounting and financial management, specifically within US-based companies, and a background in top-tier public accounting firms. This role requires a strategic thinker who can maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance, and contribute to the financial success of our organization. Key Responsibilities : Financial Management & Oversight Manage and oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, and financial reporting. Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls and procedures. Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP. Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing forecasting updates. Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions. Support strategic decision-making through accurate financial data and analysis. Audit & Compliance Prepare and coordinate audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Ensure adherence to tax laws and assist in the preparation of tax filings. Team Leadership & Collaboration Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of growth and accountability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing financial insights to support business initiatives. Qualifications : Education & Certification : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification (preferred). Experience : 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 4 years at a US-based firm. Recent title as an Accounting Manager, Controller, or Director in a US company. 5+ years of experience at a top-tier public accounting firm (PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, Grant Thornton). Technical Skills : Expertise in US GAAP and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Microsoft Dynamics). Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills. Other Requirements : Fluent in English with excellent communication skills. Based in Mexico or Latin America and able to work US time zone hours.
