A forward-thinking U.S. based company is actively hiring an experienced and detail-oriented Cyber Security Project Manager to lead, coordinate, and execute a range of cybersecurity projects across our organization. This fully remote position requires strong project management expertise, an in-depth understanding of cybersecurity practices, and the ability to drive cross-functional teams toward the successful delivery of initiatives aligned with business and security objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in cybersecurity, hands-on experience managing security-focused projects, and excellent communication and organizational skills. Key Responsibilities
• Plan, execute, and manage multiple concurrent cybersecurity projects (e.g., security audits, incident response planning, risk assessments, compliance initiatives, vulnerability management).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, security operations, development, compliance, and third-party vendors.
• Define project scopes, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource needs.
• Monitor and track project milestones, deliverables, and KPIs to ensure successful completion within scope, time, and budget.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, and escalate as appropriate.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of professional experience in project management, with at least 2 years in cybersecurity or IT security projects.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS), and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, IAM, SIEM, endpoint protection, etc.).
• Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and technical teams.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project, Trello, Smartsheet).
Preferred Qualifications
• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
• CISSP, CISM, or other relevant cybersecurity certifications.
• Experience with cloud security projects (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
