Data Analyst for UKG/UltiPro and NOVAtime Application Database Reporting (SQL Server & Power BI)

Seeking Skilled Data Analyst for In-Depth Database Analysis and Reporting Project Title: Data Analyst for Application Database Reporting (SQL Server & Power BI) Project Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Analyst for a short-term project (approximately 2 months) to perform in-depth analysis of two of our core application databases. The successful candidate will be responsible for dissecting complex data structures, extracting key insights, and developing a suite of analytical reports and data extracts to meet specific business needs. This role requires a technical expert with strong SQL skills, proficiency in Power BI, and a proven track record of working with intricate application databases. A critical component of this role is the ability to work closely with our end-users to understand their requirements and deliver insightful and actionable reports. Due to the nature of our data, experience in handling confidential and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is mandatory. Responsibilities: - Database Analysis: Dive deep into two complex SQL Server application databases to understand their structure, relationships, and data flows. - SQL Development: Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data to support reporting requirements. - Report and Dashboard Creation: Design, develop, and deploy insightful and user-friendly analytical reports and dashboards using Power BI. - Data Extraction: Create and automate data extracts for various business purposes. - User Collaboration: Work directly with end-users to gather requirements, understand their data needs, and translate them into technical specifications and final reports. - Data Integrity and Confidentiality: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all data and reports, adhering to strict protocols for handling sensitive and confidential PII data. Required Skills and Experience: - Expert-Level SQL: Proven, hands-on experience with SQL Server, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and functions. - Power BI Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to create compelling and interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI, including data modeling and DAX. - Complex Database Experience: A strong background in analyzing and understanding the schemas of complex, third-party, or in-house built application databases. - End-User Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a history of working closely with non-technical stakeholders to deliver reporting solutions that meet their needs. - PII/Confidential Data Handling: Verifiable experience working with sensitive and confidential data, with a clear understanding of data privacy and security best practices.
