Job Overview
We are currently seeking a Paraeducator Special Education - Highly Qualified to support students with disabilities in our mainstream, resource room, or center-based settings. As a Paraeducator, you will play a vital role in assisting our teachers in providing individualized instruction, support, and care to students with diverse needs. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the instruction of students with disabilities, including those with physical, emotional, or cognitive challenges
- Manage behavior, including redirecting, calming, or removing disruptive students from the classroom
- Monitor and record student progress in instructional areas, such as academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, social skills, and more
- Provide personal care and support, including toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, positioning, and transporting students in wheelchairs
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate records, including student data, progress reports, and communication with parents and guardians
- Supervise students during activities, such as recess, lunch, and transitions, to ensure their safety and well-being
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in special education
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Personal Care Assistant certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of start date)
- Completion of 60 semester/90 quarter credits or an associate's degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution, or passage of the ParaPro exam
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with students, staff, and parents
- Ability to supervise students and maintain regular attendance
- Physical ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and perform position responsibilities, including physical factors, work devices, materials handling, data functions, and people functions
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with students with disabilities, particularly in a special education setting
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
